They know it all

We are all potential liars , pretentious characters ; even the most truthful ones among us. This is because we are trying to hide our true feelings, our true thoughts and present them to the world in a way they would like to see or the way we would like them to understand. This is true for almost all of us, though the level of pretension and presentation may differ enormously from person to person. When we present our created truth to others, successfully, it feels good about being able to fool them into believing it. This works fine in some cases and people do believe what is presented to them. This may be a case when we are dealing with either strangers, ignorant or dumb people. However, with other people it just doesn't work. Though, they may play back our own trick and respond in agreement, but deep within their heart, they know it all. Our family, friends, colleagues, people who may interact with us often and some smart (knowledgeable of the topic of discussion or worldly ...

Is it possible?

It may be impossible to like everyone as a person but is it possible to treat each one as a human? It may be impossible to banish terrorism but is it possible to teach non-violence to kids? It may be impossible to eradicate poverty but is it possible to help one person make a living? It may be impossible to bring peace to the world but is it possible to listen to a friend in despair? It may be impossible to make everyone happy but is it possible to express gratitude to someone? It may be impossible to forgive everyone but is it possible to apologize for your own mistake? It may be impossible to speak truth always but is it possible to remain true to yourself? It may be impossible to change the world but is it possible to change yourself for a better world?

When you are sick but you can think

Here are some tips to use if you are sick but you are not too weak to think for yourself.  These tips should be useful for everyone but they may especially suit the context of Indian medical world.  The idea is to take intelligent initiatives and help towards condition improvement with responsibility. There would be no use of blaming others later on and you would be the one to suffer. So, it is wise to be proactive.   1. Choose a doctor :- Find about good , specialist doctors for the disease and then go to one as possible. You could ask friends or neighbors but also check about the doctors from internet, you may get some relevant information. It's always better to go close to home as possible without compromising much on the doctor or hospital. These should however be as per the need of your disease and other factors.   2. Get information about disease:- Collect information about the disease as much as possible through friends, internet, books etc. Also, tr...

comments on movie 'Kagaz ke Phool'

Kagaz ke Phool is an old classic film directed by Gurudutt. Gurudutt himself with Waheeda Rehman are in lead roles. The story is about a succesful director who loses his success and zest for living when love is lost from his life both in the form of lover and daughter. The different shades of life from success to failure are shown for this character. The movie highlights the hyprocrisy and double standards prevailing in society and how success and money are much more valuable than human beings and their emotions. The importance of social stigma in those times is evident such that to match society expectations, people would even ruin their lives. The movie brings out true love and longing between the main characters in a quiet and beautiful way. The subtle style of conveying our failure as a society to accept and nurture people rather than money & materials is typical of Gurudutt. Overall, the movie conveys important messages and portrays true love in a serene way. The movie also ha...

a read from the field of psychology

I found a page on internet, which seems to be practical and informative. http://www.rickross.com/reference/brainwashing/brainwashing11.html I have not read the book 'In sheep's clothing' as mentioned in this article and cannot recommend it at this point of time. However, the excerpt from the book contains some important pointers to judge manipulative behaviour. Some words of caution: 1. Some of the behavioural patterns mentioned above could be due to serious problems or concerns. We could go drastically wrong in some situations if we blindly start suspecting others. Our thought process should be applied and trusted above all to make any conclusions. However, being aware that manipulation is possible may be helpful. 2. It needs a very stable thinking process to do much reading on psychological subjects and not try those in practical scenarios, often with mistakes. I would warn young readers to please be careful.
